Publishers now realise just how popular this format is – resulting in audio formats being released along side paper as opposed to months and months behind as was previously the case. Websites like audible.co.uk, simplyaudiobooks.co.uk the soundsgood.com and even iTunes are making audio formats even more popular.
Unabridged audio books give you the luxury of the entire book, while abridged versions edit it down. Available through the internet or all good books shops, you can choose what format you want to listen to your audio book with, as they're available on CD, cassette or MP3.
There's a unique pleasure with an audio book, something you won’t get with paper, in that that not only is it a good read, but also entertaining due to the performance of the voice actor. ( Robert Carlyle is one of my favourites so far…).
